Renae Korsman

Partner, Newcastle and Hunter

A highly regarded taxation strategist and business adviser, Renae applies her expertise built over almost 25 years to business owners and leaders in the hospitality and SME markets. Focusing on providing clients with peace of mind, Renae’s proactive approach is in developing taxation strategies that meet a business’s unique needs now and into the future.

Renae believes a successful tax strategy is born from knowing the business, its owners, and leaders, and what they want to achieve. Thriving on the challenge of complicated structures and problems, she loves onboarding new clients and giving their structures a health check to see if it’s optimum for them. This process allows Renae to understand how a business works and analyse whether they’re in the best structure.

Understanding the structures that a business has in place can be the difference between paying a lot of tax or none, or a smooth or challenging sale process in the future, Renae takes the time to understand what her clients are looking to achieve through their business.

Renae’s specialties include accounting, business management, taxation strategy and planning, and an in-depth knowledge of the hospitality and SME industries. She also had the honour of winning the Dux Award in the Taxation Institute of Australia’s 2010 Applied Tax Course.

A partner at DFK Crosbie since 2007, Renae has been with the firm for almost 25 years. She remains a partner of the firm following the merge of DFK Crosbie and Pitcher Partners Newcastle and Hunter to unite under the Pitcher Partners brand in late-2021.
